good things

no good thing
It says
no good thing will be held back
kept away
denied from she whom He can find no fault.
and i look

i see the dreams
each one good
each one ephemeral
not tangible in my present

and i look

i see me
fault
fault
fault

is this the why?
He listens
He looks

His Son
His Son
His Son
is who He sees when He looks at me.

but won’t you be disappointed
when you look closer
through the haze of your Son and find only

me?

no haze
no mirage
no trickery
solid, real, permanent righteousness enrobes me.

no good thing will be held back

the wait
the longing
the learning
good things all

Amazing the good things He does through us, with us, to us, despite our abilities to mess up, fail. He brings redemption. He makes all things new. All things good.

I think we all wonder if God will like what he sees in us, but I think the amazing thing is that he loves us regardless of what he sees. His patience is not dependent upon our performance. If only I knew how to love the same way. Thanks for writing.

good things will come...and thank goodness his eyes see well beyond ours when we look in the mirror...

Wow, Joybird! There's so much loveliness here. Thank you for the truth you penned about how we are seen. Yesterday while praying I was struck by the constancy of God, and comforted by the thought that He is always there listening. I also want to thank you for the encouragement comment you left.

You have such a way with words. Very profound. When others look at me, what do they see? Certainly not righteousness. But what does God see? Righteousness. How can this be? It's a miracle. We are a blessed people...

it is hard to comprehend isn't it? we need him to see us, for who we are, faults and all, and still love. thankfully he does.

I love the line about how he looks and sees only me. Somehow that just captures the heart of what I really think but don't admit.

and as we walk in His righteousness "solid, real, permanent..." we become more like Him, whom we love! thanks for bringing me to worship this morning!
